This original 2 bedroom apartment is located in the traditional neighborhood of San Telmo. In its beginnings San Telmo was the cradle of the aristocratic families and the rich people, who left the neighborhood due to the Yellow fever in 1871. The big mansions that were abandoned were then occupied by poor European immigrants, creating the “conventillos” where the Tango was practiced. Until today San Telmo preserved the tipical “porteño” style, with narrow cobbled streets and big mansions that were restored to serve as restaurants or tango venues.
There is a bohemian movement and the neighborhodd became the home of photografers, architects and painters that have their ateliers in this area. The centre is the “Plaza Dorrego”, surrounded by antique shops that offer every Sunday during the “Feria” thousands of decoration and clothing objects. In the afternoon starts the “milonga”, where talented local Tango dancers practice the Tango.
