Rising Unemployment in Construction Sector

The lucrative construction sector has seen a drop in employment levels as fewer jobs are available to people at every level of the industry. This trend looks set to get worse in the next quarter. The gloomy news that unemployment is set is rise thanks to the dip in demand for new construction projects: fewer developers are willing to take the risk and so many people will not find work. Timing of this comes during a period of inflation and rising living costs meaning that lack of jobs will have a real impact.

The human resource and employment company, Manpower Argentina, collated the results through detailed research in the mining and construction sector. The research involved interviewing 65,000 employers across 41 markets in these important and usually high-employment level areas. Employers were questioned on whether they planned to increase or decrease the number of staff they employed. The results showed that employment levels are set to decrease by 3%, making it the largest drop in employment levels since 2010, the last recession. According to the results, 15% of employers predict they will have to reduce the number of employees.

In 2011, the mining and construction industry had the most movement and growth out of all of the main sectors of Argentina. The fall shows how much activity there was in the Buenos Aires real estate market (the most active market in Argentina) in 2011, but these new figures are worrying, particularly with the dollar restrictions and the uncertainty in the Buenos Aires real estate market.

Specialist Spine Clinic Opens Second Branch Back problems will affect everyone at least once in their lifetime. Modern life puts a strain on us physically and the spine is the area that is often damaged. Uncomfortable chairs, the hours spent at computers, obesity and lack of exercise all cause negative damage to our backs. Never fear though, as a highly successful clinic, dedicated to spinal conditions, has opened a second branch in Recoleta, Buenos Aires. The chain of clinics shows the importance and popularity of the clinic.

The spine clinic is known locally as ‘la Clínica de la Columna’ and it treats around 1500 people per month. You can find the new clinic on Las Heras Avenue near Pueyrredon Avenue. This new headquarters required a 500,000 pesos (approx. $ 100,000 USD) investment with the installation of specialist beds, equipment and the purchase of the 200m2 space. Healthcare is a major and lucrative industry in Argentina and Argentineans are generally willing to invest in premium healthcare such as the ‘la Clínica de la Columna.’
